Location: Oak Creek, WI
Client: Wisconsin Department of Transportation
Scope of Work:
This project involved a complete redesign of the Rawson Avenue Interchange for I-94. C.W. Purpero’s work at the site included the complete removals of all four existing on & off ramps for the interchange, as well as the excavation for the four new ramps. Much removal and grading work was completed on Rawson Avenue as well in preparation for the road’s new bridge over I-94. Using a new technique never before seen in Wisconsin, the bridge deck was actually assembled off to the side of the express way by Kraemer and then lifted and driven into place at Rawson Avenue by mobile transporters. Beyond the roadwork, C.W. Purpero was responsible for the excavation of the 224,000 sq ft detention pond located next to the northbound off ramp.
