History

In 1919, Charles W. Purpero established his own dump truck service as an offshoot of his family’s “Purpero Cartage” business. Thus, “Purpero Trucking” was born!

After World War II, Charles’ eldest son, Phillip, joined his father, providing leadership for Purpero Trucking which in the next few years would include his brothers, Anthony and Salvatore (Sam). With this core in place, it wasn’t long before they expanded the company’s services to include excavating and grading.

C.W. Purpero, Inc. was incorporated on December 23, 1949, under Chapter 180 of the Wisconsin Statutes as a successor to Purpero Trucking.

In the late 1980s, Phillip handed the reins of the company over to Sam, who was soon joined by his own son, Phillip.

Today, along with the company’s growing workforce, Phillip continues to enhance C.W. Purpero’s excellent reputation while expanding into new markets.
